The Work Release program enables those convicted of non-violent crimes to
keep their jobs and serve their time in jail at night and on weekends.
Current guidelines for the Work Release program are:
- Upon arrival to the jail to begin sentence, participants are required to
submit a copy of the Work Release Commitment Order from the court.
Failure to bring in your commitment order may cause you to be refused
admission to the jail and/or admission to the Work Release program until you
commitment order can be verified.
- Participants are required to submit the first week work release fee
($18.00 per day, $126.00 per week, cash or money order) at the time of
incarceration and each subsequent week thereafter, in advance, unless
otherwise stated on the commitment order.
- You are required to bring a padlock for you locker. If you do not
bring you own lock, you will be required to purchase a lock for $5.00.
The Livingston County Sheriff/Jail will not be responsible for any missing,
lost or stolen valuables while you are incarcerated.

periodically throughout the work release sentence.
