Civil Division
Back Home

The Civil/Transport Division is responsible (as the name indicates) for serving civil papers, but is also responsible for transporting inmates to the Michigan Department of Corrections, picking up inmates from the Michigan Department of Corrections on writs back to either the 53rd District Court or the 44th Circuit Court, and picking up inmates on Livingston County Warrants in any one of Michigan's 83 counties.  For obvious security reasons, we cannot display our transport vehicles or discus our transport schedules.  Also, for security reasons inmates never know when they are to be transported or allowed to make phone calls prior to the transport.

The Civil duties of this division covers a wide range of court papers; a few examples are:

Summons and Complaints

Subpoenas

Small Claims

Garnishments

Tax Deeds

Restitutions

Sorry, we DO NOT serve Personal Protection Orders (PPO's)
