Deputy T.J. (Timothy James) is a male Golden Retreiver who was born on July 10, 1994 right here in Michigan. He is partnered with Sergeant Mary Panozzo, a twenty-three year veteran of law enforcement. Deputy T.J. and Sgt. Panozzo attended schooling in drug detection at the Lansing Police Department and graduated in November of 1996. Deputy T.J. can detect seven major illegal narcotic substances. Deputy T.J. is also known as the "D.A.R.E." dog having taught the Alternative Lesson in the D.A.R.E. program to thousands of fifth graders since 1997. He enjoys visiting all school age children, especially those attending pre-school. Deputy T.J. is extremely friendly and loves to be petted and pampered by the children. Deputy T.J. trains with other K-9's from the East Lansing Police Department, Meridian Township, the Lansing School District, and Frankenmuth Police. His best K-9 friend is retired Officer Lady from the Williamston Police Department who lives with him, Sgt. Mary and retired Officer Larry Panozzo. |
