K-9 Sanco and Deputy Jeff Krysan have been partners since 1998, when they graduated from the Oakland Patrol Dog Academy. K-9 Sanco is a Black and Tan German Shepherd from Holland. K-9 Sanco has been trained in narcotics detection, tracking, building searches, article recovery, handler protection and suspect apprehension. K-9 Sanco is an active member in “The United States Police Canine Association Inc. (USPCA)”. Prior to coming to work for the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Sanco and Deputy J. Krysan worked for the Northfield Township Police Department. Besides all of the duties that Sanco performs as a Sheriff Deputy, he also is a very sociable canine who lives at home with Deputy J. Krysan and his family. Sanco enjoys giving demonstrations for local schools and organizations.
