The power of attorney grants the Sheriff Department permission to enforce laws on private property that normally would require a Police Officer to have a complainant.  An example of this would be a business owner that has a problem with unauthorized people on the property after business hours or a property owner where the property is being used as a spot, to drive off road vehicles, unauthorized hunting or other problems.
