My School
I homeschool. It is a choice I along with my family made years ago when I was 3/4 of the way thru 6th grade.
I can't say I have always enjoyed my choice of schooling. It has not been easy, and because of the excess time available to me I have done things that haven't always been smart. I can't say for certain that some events in my life wouldn't have happened if I had attended 'regular' school, but I can't say that they would have either.
Don't get me wrong. Most of homeschooling rules! I have gotten to meet an amazing variety of people, most of them adults! Between working my steady job, and getting out during weekdays, while teens are at school I have gotten to 'be one of the adults'. I have been treated differantly when it's just me the adults. Once adults are around me for ahwile, they realize that it is possible to be a teenager.....and a mature intelligent person.
I have learned so many 'real' things! Things I need to survive and make a differance in this world! I get to see what real life is like, without having to deal with being 'popular' or 'cool'. Those things that matter so much in highschool meen very little in everyday life.
It's with a heavy heart that I consider attending the public high school for my senior year. I do not relish getting up at 6am when for years running I have stayed up late and slept till 9 or 10am. Why do I think of returning to public school for a year? Simply because I know of no other way to get prepared for college as well. Seniors have the whole highschool of college graduates(teachers) at their disposale to help them get ready for college.
Fears of growing up I am sure all who read this page are familiar with aside for the moment.
The real reason for making this page was to show off some of my projects done over the years.
